they ended the season with Jun Jiu just about to strike Jun Yunxue in the duel competition, kind of felt flat with ending the season like this

No word about season 2, but who knows they might continue with episode 61 onward just like they did with Peerless Martial Spirit where it was supposed to be 160 episodes but continued on.

Although the studio is releasing Xian Mu (Immortal Tomb) in about 3 days time, probably replacing this one
